Self Lessons Poem by Venkateswaran Krishnan Sreenivasan

Self Lessons

Keep your physique trim and pure
And strive to be active in life forever
Keep your mind always thinking clear
To maintain your brain in top gear

Don’t delve into your past ad chew the cud
A vile pastime for the invalid old
It imparts a sense of déjà vu
To your intrepid mind without much ado

Choose the grain from the chaff, the good from evil
The sweet from the bitter, the divine from the devil
We are not aware whence we came
On this earth, play well the game
Not with an eager eye on fame
If thou dost fail, do not feel the shame
The world for ever will remain the same
