Self-Introspection On My Happy Birth Day Poem by Purusottam Chuli

Self-Introspection On My Happy Birth Day

I have already lived half a century minus one
Were I to score a century for my last journey
And today bouquets of Happy Birth day pour
In and in coinciding my only daughter Priti having
Been declared as the best student of the year.

Thanks drizzle from the core of my heart to all
Including my Creator who tastes me every moment.
Lord Krishna ordained and I tendered cattle,
Did farming and fought ghastly rural fight
And of course worked as a lecturer with penury
And only a decade passed thereby;
Then called upon to be counsel in the temple of Justice
Relying upon others for filling up my own belly;
There came the task of translating the super discourse
of the Supreme Lord and with it so-called prosperity.

I wanted to be a mere lecturer and God made
Me to fight and rescue hundreds of lecturers;
I wanted to be a mere two page daily reader of
The Srimad Bhagavat Gita and God
Gave me thousands of daily readers;
Sublime is my living and life now; still, some
Of my fondest dreams there to come true;
My mother tongue is in dying stage;
A Fakir Mohan with Madhubabu are wanted
To wake up the Odians from their deep slumber;
Look forward I to be like them
Bless me and lead me in the fray.
