Self Errand Poem by GRANT FRASER

Self Errand

I've got to communicate,
tell you what to do,
how to feel in the moment,
where to go,
what to look for along
your journey...

You'll have to present
everything you can find
inside the mind's eye,

The light that flickers
at the furthest corners
of your thoughts,

It's like the enormous
part, that's still missing?

And somehow I need you to
be there, to help,

I'm happy to think that...

To be this living thing,
with these big eyes and legs
and arms,

With a great bigger heart,
should it happen?

So I can't lie to you,
Even when things don't
go right or the way
they're supposed to,

You see it's a natural
addiction to say things over
and over and over...
then not do anything!

And afterwards I will sit
like a newly folded shirt
again - waiting...
