Seeds Planted Poem by Mark Briggs

today i sit thinking of you and realize
i've done something to you that i despise
i planted a seed in your heart so long ago
its one that should never been aloud to grow
the seed i speak of is the one of doubt
its made you wonder in your life throughout
i know there has been many things you've wondered
that hit you hard like lightning and thunder
the thing that bothers me today
is knowing when i went away
you were left wondering if you were loved
i want you to know i cant stress enough
that was never the case, so far from the truth
i still can't explain things i did in my youth
the love i have for you is so deep
when you are awake or in your sleep
my wish is that one day you will understand
i will never let go of your hand
and every day you are here on earth
you will know i loved you from your birth
those seeds i planted that turned to doubt
one day my hope is to weed them out
