Seeds Of Wonderment Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Seeds Of Wonderment

Rating: 4.5

She will always wash her tiny feet in a pail by the door
Crystal waters instantly turn to muddy chocolate swirls
A bucket of thrilling delight from the wells icey surprise
Contrasting with her hot sweaty mess of tangled wild hair

What a day of planting and singing with mother dear
Of earthworms and roly poly bugs in tickled palms
The fresh new earth, surrendering to the trowel
Mother- daughter kneeling, celebrating with the sun

Careful to mind the stone that marks the old cat's sleep
A prayer of life and joy is held lightly in their happy hands
Dreams of future sunflowers someday swaying slowly
Seeds for wonderment, brilliant colors tracing fence posts

Indoors the chores of dishes washed, with tiny hands drying
Outdoor fun is flower planting as chubby fingers pat the ground
Lemonade well earned will top their ice filled glasses
Dreams of tomorrow's bliss will fill their peaceful nights

A prayer of life and joy is held lightly in their happy hands...beautiful. This poem with its lovely imagery fills the heart with hope n delight. A pretty picture of life n happiness you have created here. And the beauty of mother daughter relation is depicted so well. We can always plant new hopes..the seeds hold a promise of fruition and fulfillment. Lovely piece of writing.
