Second Class Soul Poem by Liss March

Second Class Soul

Numbing water, the fire reaches me.
Fear and anger scourge inside me.
Hate tasting tears well up in my throat-
So long as I live I swear no one will know me.

Keep it inside because the ugly will burn
Run til I can't and then keep on going
Hate you for this I hate me for this
But I swear til I die I will keep running

You taught me why I'm a second class soul
A lesson I will never forget
I see it in everyone's eyes and actions
Can't believe I didn't know it then
