Seaside Stroll Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Seaside Stroll

Walk with me
Down to the sea
Where the waves reach for the beach
And recede like unrequited love.

Take my hand.
Dig your toes into the sand.
Listen to the sea gulls squawk
And the kites kree
Before they dive below the surface
Of the blue gray waves
In this secluded lagoon.

Forget the women you have known.
Forget the woman you long for.
Let the past pull back like the tides.
Trust the future to meet you in its own time.

In this moment you are mine.
In this natural sanctuary we are divine.
Follow me into this cave.
Take your place in my ritual.

Give yourself to me completely now
And I vow to allow you to walk away
With my heart in your soul, free.
