Seaside

 Poem by Ronald Chapman

Seaside

Can you imagine,
watching a beautiful seaside sunset?
The sky looks on fire.
Burning reds, bright oranges hot as the yellow sun and yet the outer edges of the blazing sky have begun to cool and turn dark blue and gray as night falls.

Almost everyone has gone,
I hear the waves, smell the scent of the salt water and feel the caress of the cool breeze upon my face.
The warm sand hugs my feet and warms my soul.
Day's end becomes tranquil. It's sad. It's quiet. It's happy. It's peaceful.

As night falls I see two friends walking along waters edge holding hands;
Wondering, what to do next?
