Searching Poem by Linda May Fox

Searching

A man of time gone by, stood alone
So much suffering, so much pain
Carried from a boy to fragments of a man
Was there once a glimmering flame?

An endless search held fast in the rules of time
For the spirit of peace from whence he came
A freedom to capture from what was once known
From beating flesh which once had flown.

Visions of a hand held out through the barriers of time
To bring forth a hope from the buried depths to that place to come
And the silent whisper from the comforting breast of long ago
The hand of nurture where we in wholeness grow.

Endless dreams encompassed a frailty which locked in a life
With a heart so tender and knowing the freedom of love
Seeking an answer to his prison of time, searching for the key he could never hold
For he did not know why no words indwelt in his mind, as to his heart the secrets were
told.

As I said goodbye to a heart so strong, the heart who found the faith I knew
I heard the silent words which spoke deep within to strengthen my heart too
Delivered to a place much more than dreams and being set free,
Now with the one above, who always held his key.
