Sea Quest Poem by Christine Natale

Sea Quest

Rating: 5.0

I have sailed far on a bright wishing star
To search for the brave and the true
I’ve questioned the wise in mystical guise
The directions they gave me were few

The way is so long and my heart is not strong
I stop often in need of a rest
But never can stay past a year and a day
Always forced to continue my quest

I ask myself why I continue to try
To find something not even known
What can it be that is calling to me
That I hear when completely alone

Could you be the one on the path to the sun
Strong and wise as I never can be
Stepping into my boat to keep it afloat
On this terrible, turbulent sea

Or are you alone in a dream of your own
In a boat on the sea in the sky
Must you rush past sailing ever too fast
To send me one word but good-bye

Someday I will know where it is I must go
To discover the land of my dreams
Please wait for me there if you really do care
For this heart come apart at the seams
