Scripted Desire Poem by Aria Siren

Scripted Desire

I'm afraid
My expectations for love are too great

That when I finally get a chance
I'll be left disappointed with my circumstance

Love should just let me be
It's luster is diminished
As it makes a fool out of me

No.

Love is for the empty
And naive
The ones who wear their heart on their sleeve

The ones who think to love
And to be loved in return
Is something you can hope to earn

So I have love and the grip it has on me
Clinging to an idea
Rather than reality

Wanting to jump into a movie
And feel the same fire
Pretending it's not scripted desire

Hoping for something unreal
Breeds discontent
And will only break my heart in the end.

I like this. It's human and honest. Fav. lines: Clinging to an idea Rather than reality. Wanting to jump into a movie. And feel the same fire. Pretending it's not scripted desire. Thanks for sharing.
