Scarlett Skies Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Scarlett Skies

A Scarlet Sky
clutches waves
ocean sways
like a horse underneath me;
silver moon
mercury hued
shimmering
chevron clouds dancing
billowy wisps
like your lips
as they kiss me
a hummingbirds breath
inside
quiverings
I explode
ecstasies
lather cream
onto the sky
adding red strawberries
into the mix;
Mother nature
grants us
the Cornucopia
of summer wheat
tether ball
blue gold stars
cold nights rescued
with your arms all around.

Then I loved everything
and I still do
and you.
