Scarlet Ribbon Poem by David Harris

Scarlet Ribbon

Rating: 5.0

There are many ribbons
that our armed forces wear.
The brightest one
that stands out the most
is the scarlet ribbon
worn across the chest.
Some may call it
by a different name,
the red badge of courage,
but to me it is still
the scarlet ribbon
worn for all to see.
Sadly, most of these ribbons
are worn posthumously.

Brings a tear to the eye D. Yes... as in many aspects of life, the recognition is only after death. Sigh. t x
