Saying Goodbye Means...I Love You Poem by Cynthia Aluning

Saying Goodbye Means...I Love You

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes...
Parting ways is bitter
At times...
Parting ways is better
If you love me real
Set me free
Only in this
Life is conflict-free

If ever I say 'Goodbye'
That does not mean
I love you no more
But I want you to be
Much happier than before

And if ever I sob and cry
It's not because I lost you
Not only you that I will lose
But I lose life myself for you

God seemed to know
How much I loved you
Yet He would not
Let me have you
For having you means
I could lose you
And in not having you means
I could love you

Now we are happy
We made it light
By letting love go
It is just right
Though I wished
I could have been
But giving you back
You'll be at peace
