Saturday Night Poem by Barbara Stahly

Saturday Night

Saturday night and here I am alone
with no one to call my own
Others are out having fun
while I'm here at home
having none
Guess I'll eat some ice cream
that always helps
better yet a root beer float
yummy, yummy as it slides
down my throat
I'll put on some music and just
pretend that I'm here dancing
with my special friend.
