Satiety Poem by Indira Renganathan

Satiety

Rating: 5.0

Fatigued..
This moment..
Golden jubilee carrying on to Diamond
Wheeling, rolling pain, pleasure, pain, pleasure
Yes
Treasured life measured of pain and pleasure
Fatigued
Uncertainty? yes
Bloody plexus, pain-pleasure nexus
Sixtyplus terrified
White and black, bright and dark..
Yes
God is fair, unfair
Enough, enough
Yet just one wish
Just enough to retire eternal
Only in fair God

At an advanced age one has a lot of thoughts billowing like smoke from within, and often equally smoke-screened. This poem reflects this with beautiful play of rhyming words juxtaposed to enhance their effect. Yes, satiety is felt at this age. Marvelous piece.
