Sapphire Lake Poem by Rhonda Baker

Sapphire Lake

It's early morning when I start to awake
As the sunlight dances on Sapphire Lake
I take my cup of coffee out to the deck
Watch the fishermen head out their trek
The call of the loons, are all that I hear
As I start my day and shift into gear
The kids start to stir, pretty slow at first
But don't be fooled, their energy will burst
For the water calls them, just as it calls me
In a past life I must have lived on sea
There's so much to see and so much to play
All on a simple vacation day
