Sands Of Our Land Poem by Kaila George

Sands Of Our Land

I long to touch the sands of our land
Were my ancestors and forefathers roamed?

Were my mother played and laughed in the sands
As she learnt her customs of old

Tradition is strong along with family and friends
The bond that one shares never ends

But when they move on
And are no longer there
We mourn the loss of family and friends

We cry in vain hoping to see them once more
But alas they are gone and no more
So with a sigh and one last cry
We hold them close
And dear to our hearts and our dreams
Now and Forever more
