I build castles of sand for you
On beaches of shattered glass.
I walk these beaches alone
With memories of the past.
As the saline ocean ebbs and tides
My castles crumble and fall.
I keep building them for you
With thoughts that you might call.
But all remains silent,
All but the crashing waves.
The sound of echoing memories
Of promises we made.
Love is everlasting.
Friendships come and go.
So I continue building castles for you
Because love
Is all I know.
