Same Story Different Locations Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Same Story Different Locations

Rating: 5.0

Same story different locations

Clear all of them, everywhere
Cochabamba Bolivia
Far from the Kalat
And from Bamian

One is told by Quechua
Another Book of Kings
And last is Hazaras

Stories are the same
Girls, women choosing death
Thanks to wars and the rape…

Streets and cliffs
Have been named after them.

Forty girls; or daughters
Jumped themselves to their death
Or used knives, swords, venom
Committing suicide, genocide
To escape shame of rape…

What about in Iraq
Syria and Sudan
And Yemen
Lists go on...
