Salve Of Silence Poem by Sudam Panigrahi

Salve Of Silence

How can I provide solace
To that mother
Who has lost
Her two sons in heydays?
What I can I say
In front of her acrid tears?

What happened,
When and how,
I won't ask,
And puncture your eyes.
As for your grief
I've no soothing words.

Oh mother,
I won't say anything
But would try
To give a salve of silence
That may not wipe your tears
But at least won't puncture
Your eyes.
And here I take a
Silent bye.
