Salt And Pepper Poem by Juan Olivarez

Salt And Pepper

Salt and pepper on my plate,
My prerequisite for a meal.
I don't want a long debate,
Without the two, there ain't no deal.

Salt and pepper three times a day,
Morning, noon, and night.
The two things that make me stay,
At the table for a bite.

Got to have my pepper,
And my salt as well.
Without those two, I'll hit the road,
Where I wind up, no one can tell.
