Said Something Cruel To A Friend Today Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I said something cruel to a friend today.
He looked at my cruel expression but didn't say,
How hurt he was in such a bad way,
After I accused him of something he didn't mean or say.

I knew these heart stabbing, word wounds,
Burnt a hole in his sweet and gentle being.
But I continued anyway,
As my words led to bad ways after way.

Till my adrenaline even finally gave up.

Now fearfully, I saw him walk away.
This did not my fears alay,
For NOW the onous was on me.

For the one finger I pointed at him,
Were my own three pointed to me.



That accusation didn't bring me happiness.


Thank God that with apologies and changed ways.
My sincerity will make intentions come true,
By whatever actions I may do.


I told him of my plan to love him so much! !
So the suffering in him ended.
With our friendship repaired,
And our so precious love mended.
