Safety First Poem by Arthur Guiterman

Safety First

The Deer don't dine
When a Wolf's about,
And the Porcupine
Sticks his quill-points out.

The Minks won't tell
Where they hide or sleep,
And the Lynx looks well
Where he means to leap.

The Mice lie snug
When the Hoot Owls flit,
And the Lightning Bug
Keeps his tail-light lit.
