Sad is Stupid

I'm sorry you're sad

'I'm not sad.
Don't use that word.
Sad is stupid.'

... cos when you're sad
you're always angry
and push me away

'Of course I'm angry.
I'm pissed off
I'm allowed to be angry.'

so I guess I'd better
leave you alone
- and not show I mind -
till you're happy again

'Happy?
I'm never happy.
Happy is dumb and stupid! '

You may have caught the essence of the man in this one Allie! Great economy of language, and you got the point over with great timing and clarity. Very worth committing to print! ! Very fine work as always. xxx jim (Report) Reply

Relationships are your strong point when you write (I should say strongest!) And I love the quick flow of exchanges. S x (Report) Reply

You know I didn't read that as a man you were talking to. I took it as a child. Then I read Esther's comment and blink - illumination. We are like that. You know it and accept it - cool. (Report) Reply

A funny yet insightful write, my friend! I love men. I mean, I really love men. But you have GOT to be able to laugh, eh? ? ! Don't forget to give him that hug from me, and more than one to YOU, Allie, for such forebearance and compassion! Commiserations and smiles, Esther : ] (Report) Reply

Then stupidity is inevitable and blessed are the dumb. A good twist of the pen here, AAA. It would be comical if it weren't a true reflection of a usually-male attitude of dismissing the emotions. Fine write; it kicks, and lingers on the tongue. t x (Report) Reply

There's only one response to this and it's -

I love life, and life loves me.
I'm as happy as one could be.
    A happier man nowhere exsists.
I think it's time to slash my wrists. (Report) Reply

Well, , , , , , if sad is stupid, and happy is stupid, then I guess we're all stupid at one time or another! Leaves very little room to be anything else! Great write, Allie - you just let that lion roar once in awhile - good for the spirit! Take that from a fellow feline...lol!

Sometimes, when we try to express our-selves, the mood name doesn't quite fit
I feel that you have expressed this very well
