Sad As I Am I Sing The Light Stronger
SAD AS I AM/ I SING THE LIGHT STRONGER
Sad as I am
I sing the light stronger-
When despair frightens
I stare it down with words-
Nothing can doom me.
In the joy of my morning song
They try and try again
To make me black silence-
But I have a poem
And it lifts me and lifts me beyond my self again and again
Joyful as I am happy as I am writing as I am
God is good to me.
