Running To The Club Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Running To The Club

Didn't think this be the last that i've heard from you
No more calling saying
that you love, need and want me
No more hearing an earful of lies
No more providing you with a lifetime supply
of my love
I sacrificed alot for you
Pity on you to start sanging the blues

You hurting me like this don't expect me back
You can think about that
Tried to work it out like a good lover do
tonight, you got me crying, guess on your part it wasn't true

oh, you got me running to the club
to find another love
Because you've broken my heart
why love? didn't i give you enough?

Gone ahead be mad i don't care
A new day dawns upon us, cry your tears
Now you going around playing the victim
Why did I turn a blind eye to the signs?
Disappointment sets in because i wasn't alert
As I allowed you to drag me through the dirt
A prisoner of your love I won't be, I'm drawing the line

Checked myself to keep from getting frustrated
I believe in 'I love you' when it's from the heart
If the words aren't sincere then I will have no part
I believe in giving a little of your time
Is that a crime?
If you believed in us you wouldn't have thrown in the towel
I calls it how I see it, this game you've played was foul
Yes, I'm aware your heart longs to be loved
You're desperately seeking and your actions spoke loud
and quite frankly it wore on me until I had enough
