Running For Cover Poem by Kent Krauss

Running For Cover

When you know you've done the wrong thing or made a catastrophic mistake
You tend to want some help in evading the consequences for the actions you take
To lessen your looking too dimwitted or incompetent in the environment where you are
And to allow you the appearance of having done what could be considered better than par
But to do that, you'd have to take action that might repair or at least mitigate damage
Which again leaves you scrambling to think of something that might better your image
