Running Away From Love Poem by Emma Haze

Running Away From Love

He said he loved her, but she doubted that was true,
He said he'd always be there, but he wasn't when she was blue,
Well, she told him, she felt something for him,
and he ran away again, little Danny can't face love,
cause he's scared of being a man.

Running away from love, day after day,
Running away from love, in every way,
He runs, til his feet hurt so bad,
Oh, little Danny, he can't stand,

He runs away, everytime a girl says 'I love you'
In runs away from love, and girl, that's the truth,
He runs away, in circles and in squares,
anytime a girl who loves him is near,
Oh, he runs from love, just like a man runs from a bear.

She's crying, wondering what she did wrong,
sitting by herself, right by her favorite pond,
And as she cries her broken sobs,
she doesn't know that hes by her, and he hears.

Danny ran away from love, like the moon chases the sun,
he ran away from love like a man running from another holding a gun,
Until he found her crying, sobbing out her love, to no one,
and thats when Danny found, his heart had been stolen.

He ran from love, from all the feelings, he didn't want to hurt when she left,
He'd run away from everything, he knew, until she'd stolen him,
And he found he loved her, had straight from the start,
Oh Danny stopped running, and now, she owns his heart,
She stole his heart, oh, should he report her for thieft?

Oh, he sat right on down next to her, and poured everything out,
told her that he was just scared, of being hurt, that he'd had been before,
and oh, how she'd smiled, when he told her that he loved her with everything he had,
And when he kissed her, fireworks shot in the air, and when he asked her to be his forever,
she smiled and kissed him back.

Danny's no longer running away, and he's getting married today,
He and Helen Lou are gonna have a family of four, they're gonna be happy,
be married forever,
Oh, Danny learned not to run away, just because your afraid,
Danny doesn't run away from love, anymore.
