Running Away Poem by Lauren Joy

Running Away

Running away from home
A bag full of necessities on my back
The moon frowns
The stars glisten like sinister eyes
I can't see a thing
Run through the long grass
My heart pounds painfully in my chest
My breath catches
I freeze
I'm lost...and alone
I am void of any heat
The activity has not affected me
I am a frigid, deadly block of concrete
I am cold and hard
I am nothing
