Running Poem by Modupeola Williams

Running

Rating: 3.8

Contracting and relaxing
muscles over muscle glide
Faster and faster
my feet and the earth colide
Moving ahead the wind flows through my hair
The sound of onlookers a loud blur in my ear
Pulsing and pulsing
the blood in my veins
Focus intense as monsoon rains
For a second i feel so wild and free
Like a ship upon the open sea
That high, the energy kicks into gear
Closer and closer
the end draws near
But for a second i wish i could disappear
So that like the wind i would blow right through
And stop, i would never have to
