Runaway Bride Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Runaway Bride

I tried so hard to love you,
So so hard.
You kept running.
Was it me, was my caress too tight.
I kept searching but couldn't find.
I've prayed only to find you've come back into my life.
I've comptemplated only to look down and see your running shoes still tied.
Fear steps in.
I can't help but think you'd go again.
Did my dream turn into a nightmare.
Did my day suddenly turn to night.
I'm not perfect in the least.
Was there any reason to lose faith in religion.
Hands that came together so adimitly.
Do I still pray the same. Thinking of the various outcome.
Wondering if the Sun still takes slow walks across your face.
Imaging life through the eyes of a child.
Every look something new, not truly knowing life.
Only to see you in full stride in the opposite direction
