Run Away From Me

Run and run
Away
From those simple mistakes we made
The friends we keep
The lovers we meet
Fall away day by day
I loved you
And you died
I loved you
And I cried
But now I see the shadows you carry
Now see what I couldn't
You carry lies, my love
And you broke all that you had
There's barely anything left
Don't blame her for your mistakes
Don't blame me for what you've done
And just run and run
Like you always do
Run from the things you do
And the things you've seen
And the person you are
Who you were
And what you want to be
Run from the lies you tell
Run away from her
Run away from me
Run and run
Away

Sounds like someone is telling the father/boyfriend or husband to continue on with their games cause that is all they ever do. That was my take on it anyway. Nice poem (Report) Reply

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
