Ruler Poem by Thalia Estrada

Ruler

You were my ruler i was the criminal
itching to get loose from your clutch and your control

Held under your thumb left me no where to run
ruler you just laughed i was your game of fun

But i held tight like hanging on thin thread
you were telling me if i leave im gonna dropp dead

So i closed my eyes and let go
knew i was falling to the unknown

But i was finally free possessed the power to fly
i untied my wings and watched the sunrise
