Ruing Poem by Latha Krishnan

Ruing

No letter, no word, no sound?

Parched for news

My eyes fill

Again and again

Not quenching my longing

Where are you? Why the silence?

Why are we here now?

At a junction from where no way looks right

Except the one through which we have arrived

Separately!

The knowledge of yesterdays

Gone for ever yet so full of regrets

What would it have been like?

If we had taken the journey together

Through highs and lows

Joys and sorrows

Pleasure and pain

And everything in between

Why do my eyes brim over?

Again and again!
