Rowing Poem by Danette Frenz

Rowing

I climb a boat, near the shore.
Not knowing where to go.
My heart does sink down, low, below.
To tug a boat, it does not tow.
Seek an oar, to row a boat,
Just to stay awake, afloat.
Gently, gently, down the stream,
Wish to find my only dream.
Merrily, verily, I go too deep.
Merrily, verily, I drift to sleep.
