Room To Grow Poem by Kathryn Thomas

Room To Grow

Rating: 2.5

My wings
Where did they go?
They’re shrinking
They’re cramping in pain

I’m in so much pain
Can someone pick me up,
Dust me off,
And let my wings stretch?

Help me, I’m in a ball
Curled into agony
With no where to run to be comforted
Except in someone else’s arms

Can you understand
That I’m growing
I need room to breathe
I need to be able
To love you freely
Without chains that hold me down
Without feeling conquered
But knowing that I can come to you
And not be judged
That I can come to you
Without being shackled to you

Yet my wings keep growing
And their wanting room to stretch
And yet I’m hurting

Can you help me?

This is a nice poem. It is strangely similar to one I wrote 'The Abyss'. I would not post here, about my own poem, but I am new here and I can't actually figure out how to post a message directly to another member.
