Roof Garden Poem by AKELLA S. RATNAM

Roof Garden

Rating: 3.0

ROOF –GARDEN

When child sucks milk from synthetic nipples
Can man be kind and loving?

When youth rush for wealth by stealth
Can man be expected`to blush at misery?

When boys play to be playboys
Can youth be expected to run for duties?

When girls dream fanciful dreams
Can women cope with real-life burdens?

When men devour nature with greed
Can Nature bear the pain of loss?

As man with man, woman with woman
Rise and rise`in mansions of many floors
To meet sunshine and rain half-way
Nature as is her nature dozes on the roof.
As man and man, woman and woman,
Engaged in filling coffers and building bank accounts
Their emotions and feelings flee in search of safe havens
Up and up above in the clouds which heavily hang in the sky.
