Rome Poem by Alexander Foald

Rome

Over those many hours and seconds
Unrecognized light sparks behind the tail
Of one falling star, down from the night sky
Thrusts through the mirror of seas below

Bringing down all dreams and hopes we built
Sunk deep into the ocean floor, leaving the fire
Burns everything it sees and changes them all
Into white snows, that fall upon the rampaged city

Likewise, the world is watching her sons and daughters
Slaughtered by unkind lovers of science and violence
Until the time comes within the eye of raging vengeance
One hell of a dramatic judgment, barking in a shade of confidence
