Romance

When a caress rises like the tide
When a kiss is a lingering memory
When hold of the hands is love's security
When a cuddle is the warmth of two

Where tenderness is the anthem
And romance the sovereignty
Of two open hearts, gaping in anticipation
At the minuscule moments that epitomize togetherness
When a simple gesture ripples to the heart
And a vague sensation lingers
In baby steps of love

When there is a body that needs to be filled
With the virtues of expression
Language that needs no words wrapped in tongue
But cascades like a feather in the wind

Romance, a home with no fences
And just enough room for two sodden hearts

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
