Rock Bottom Poem by Alexis Weiermann

Rock Bottom

How do you know when you've hit rock bottom?
When you've been falling for a while
and you finally stop.
No, there is no hope that you got caught on a branch.
You've hit the bottom
and you know it cause it hurt.
All you needed was a push,
Once you got it,
Down, down, down,
You went.
The bottom is what hurt the most,
It hit you the hardest.
The rocks on the way,
Sure they hurt,
But the bottom broke you entirely.
You can try to climb back up,
But you'll just fall.
You need help and you know it.
You can try calling,
Finally someone will hear you.
They'll send down help,
And you'll slowly but surely climb back up to the top.
You'll tell yourself that you're never going back down there.
Wait a few years,
Someone will push you again.
Or maybe you'll just jump.
You don't know,
All you know is that rock bottom hurts.
