River Of Sorrow Poem by Desert Life

River Of Sorrow

Rating: 5.0

River of sorrow has again burst its banks,
Flooded by painful memories of yesteryears,
Though my tears had long dried,
But sparks of hope in the ashes never died.

When the storm within the heart raged,
Ever casting shadows of retribution,
But as quickly as the lightning and thunder came,
The cooling breeze of reason blew it away.

O hatred, O love…
What game had you played?
Was it honey or poison that you gave?
Though many seasons had passed, but my nights and days...
memories of you, just refused to be washed away.

Love lost is always remembered with sadness. A good poem.
