River Fields Poem by Matt Mooney

River Fields

There is something in the setting sun
That speaks to me of death and darkness
As the dying moments of another day
Are suffused with a splash of crimson.
Then the surface of the Feale turned red
By Martin Daly’s low lying river fields:
Near the large crucifix at Convent Cross.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
