Ritual Poem by Linda Hepner

Ritual

Rating: 5.0

I wake up
With difficulty
I must have coffee
Coffee

The cat meows
Disconsolately
He must have meaties,
Meaties

The sun shines
Relentlessly
It must have gases,
Gases

I will drink
Addictively,
In blinding sunshine,
Sunshine

And I will tender
Incomprehensibly
The four-legged feline,
Feline

While dreaming
Constantly
Of stream-filled forests,
Of stream-filled
Forests.
