Ring Poem by Arvie Calimlim

Once upon a long time ago
A princess found a prince
They start to find true love
And were very happy since

One day the prince came
Gave the princess a ring
When the prince left
The princess started to sing

She sang a song of joy
And smiled all through the night
And even in her sleep
She was a lovely sight

She woke up the next morn
Greeted the sun with a smile
But when the news got to her
She stopped for a little while

The next thing they knew
The palace had a flood
From the princess’s eyes
Came out the tears and the blood

She cried so hard she got sick
Still she cried although she’s weak
She lost her life she’d tell
She lost her mind as well

The princess was about to die
She saw the ring the prince had given
Thought she’ll give it a last look
Before she goes to heaven

She lifted it off her finger
Then there she saw
Something that caught her eye
Words written without flaw

With her last breath she read
“Live for me…”her last words to hear
The princess didn’t take too long
After she cried her last tear
