Riding The Merry Go Round Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Riding The Merry Go Round

Rating: 5.0

The Merry Go Round went round and round
and the pastel, colored horses went up and down
on golden, metal poles evenly bound
in unison with the organ's musical sound.

The Merry Go Round is now circling at a slow pace.
Stops-the children ready to enter the race
to grasp a pole and climb aboard
ready for an experience they can afford.

They select a wooden horse and wave to the crowd,
feeling very comfortable and even proud,
mounting a horse for everyone to see,
smiling and overwhelmed with glee.

The children on the Merry Go Round enjoying the ride,
Letting out a roar with their mouth wide.
Up and down, around and around and around.
Everyone thrilled by the patriotic musical sound.

The Merry Go Round slows down as others eagerly wait
anxious to enter the nearby gate.
The riders dismount from their horse with pride,
reminiscing the thrill of the Merry Go Round ride.
