A poem is not poetic art
If it doesn’t rhyme right from the start
If they don’t rhyme just like they ought
They’re just a lot of words and thoughts

Rhyming words can be a curse
To put your feelings into verse
The skill of putting thoughts to rhyme
Makes reading poems so sublime

So poets would you think again
Before you even raise your pen
Anyone can write nice words
Is rhyming them really - so absurd?

Some of the poetry that I’ve read
Can make sense only in their head
Reading it’s a waste of time
Shame it doesn’t even RHYME
