Rhyming Poetry Starter Kit Poem by Allen Vaysberg

Rhyming Poetry Starter Kit

When writing poetry one can
Pick rhyming style one wants to use
It matters not which one you choose
But once you do adhere to plan.

It could be simple one like this
Where first and second sentence kiss,
The third and fourth must follow suit
And then your poem will be cute.

It could be first and third that dance
There is more room to pirouette,
And if you give this style a chance
I doubt it's something you'll regret.

Of course one could decide to try
A variation of above
Where only second sentence fits
The fourth one like a fitted glove.

You can have fun and play around,
So many patterns can be found
There isn't one to which you're bound
Just marry meaning with the sound.

We've tried the four, let's move to six,
Its sentence pattern you can mix,
One plays with two, then four with five.
While three is brethren to last,
It may sound strange if read too fast
But pause, and it will come alive.

The patterns are of your creation.
So just allow your inspiration
To be your only motivation.
For writing poetry is fun
It can be done by everyone
When you have time or on the run.

Just grab some paper and a pen
Allow your soul to move at will
For poetry is not a skill
It is a gift from God to men.
