Revenge Poem by Wendy Bureau

Revenge

Rating: 3.2

The stench of evil engulfs me
And damn near swallows me with rage
I walk upon the streets of hell
My outer crust, my cage

Lurking in the darkness
In the depths, inside of me
A manifested anger
I'm condemned, no longer free

I'm on the hunt, on the prowl
There's nowhere you can run
For my friend, it's payback time
Have mercy? I have none

You must pay the price, my vengeance
For I am here, to take you down
Strip from you your power
And take from you, your crown

An escape, I assure, impossible
Your death, my final act
I reclaim from you my dignity
Resolving, my solemn pact

No one, you can hurt, no more
May your body dissolve your sin
Let the earth reclaim your remains
Allowing my healing to begin
