Return Of The Non-Native Poem by Mike Finley

Return Of The Non-Native

At least with the prodigal son
when he held out his begging sack
his family apprised him of their joy
and clapped him on the back

Compare to a tourist in a dingy bar
Spanish armada on the wall
and all that gold on the kerf of the sea
just itching to be found
